Spitfire Audio Releases FREE LABS Electric Guitars!

LABS Electric Guitars By Spitfire Audio

LABS Electric Guitars is a FREE instrument collection for macOS and Windows from Spitfire Audio. You’re in for a treat if you haven’t previously checked out Spitfire Audio’s LABS collection. LABS is a terrific collection of free instrument libraries that offers pretty much everything you need to compose most types of music.

LABS Electric Guitars

Leo Wyatt, Dino Pollano, and Keith Theodosiou compiled Electric Guitars, which features a variety of musical styles and playing approaches (guitarists). Rock, Blues, Pop, Indie, and 80s are among the musical styles represented, and they span a wide range of darkness to light.

You can switch between Rhythms, Plucks, and Sustained Notes by changing your playing method. Instrument libraries for guitars are divisive, and they don’t necessarily sound as natural as other virtual instruments. Some musicians will quickly dismiss a virtual guitar, insisting that the genuine thing is preferable.

While this is true, we could say the same thing about anything: I’d rather have a nine-foot Concert Grand and a collection of vintage keyboards than a copy of Keyscape, yet I adore it.

The problem with guitar libraries is that you need to think about context more thoroughly. With a piano or strings VST, for example, you may keep them out in the open to some extent and still get amazing results. However, if you want a synthetic guitar to sound authentic, you must think more about the lines/notes you play and where it sits in the mix.

The strumming patterns in LABS Electric Guitars are extremely useful, as evidenced by the demo (Louis Rugg – No Relation). It demonstrates how the many aspects of Electric Guitars may be used in the correct environment to create something credible.

While the sounds are versatile, the demo also serves as an excellent illustration of how to score a contemplative scene, which is what Spitfire Audio excels at.

Final Thought

The LABS virtual instrument series is a free collection of virtual instruments that presently contains 13 instruments. The instruments have a three-button control mechanism that is incredibly easy to use. Despite the fact that user control is restricted, these instruments sound excellent. Each one might be thought of as a ready-to-use sound that has been adjusted.

If it matches your idea for the project, that’s fantastic. And with NO cost at all, you’d be remiss not to take a look at what they have to offer. But be warned: once you have a taste for what a decent sample library sounds like, you’ll probably want to explore the realm of the un-free even more.
