Front DAW 2nd hand Version by United Plugins
The Front DAW plugin was updated by United Plugins on September 13, 2021. This update affects the free version as well, which they refer to as “second-hand” (it can be interpreted as a lite version that offers fewer adjustment parameters). Please note that after the 15-day trial of the full version of Front DAW has expired, the second-hand version will be enabled.

Front DAW
Several well-known brands, including FireSonic, Soundevice Digital, JMG Sound, Muramasa, Instant Audio, and MeldaProduction, have partnered with United Plugin. Soundevice Digital has a long history of creating tools and replicas of antique studio equipment. Boris Carloff’s Prague SounDevice Studio is the source of all the concepts for Soundevice Digital.
Greg Brimson, a well-known British producer, remixer, and musician, came up with the concept of the ‘Front DAW’ as the front entry of your recording application as a result of his long-term need for the old-school analog sound in his DAW.
The Front DAW plugin claims to transform your digital audio workstation into an analog console. The color and saturation that traditional and renowned analog consoles provide are available in Front DAW. For analog consoles, the complete edition of Front DAW includes three forms of saturation (BR – British, US – American, GE – German). Only the harmonic saturation emulation ‘BR’, which mimics the color of classic British consoles, will be available in this second-hand version.
You’ll just have the ‘INPUT’ knob to control the color brightness, saturation, and harmonic contribution that Front DAW provides (in the free second-hand version). As a result, it’s critical to include a plugin that helps us adjust for the excess level that may be present in some of the input knob’s more extreme settings.
The Variable Analogue Random Modeling (VARM ll) technology was improved, and the Front DAW update features a new GUI design. The interesting thing about VARM II is that it is based on knowledge from the chaotic behavior and randomness of the analog world, which means that each inserted plug-in will act “slightly” differently.
“Once the trial version expires, the plugin will switch to the second-hand version. You will lose a few knobs, but you will still be able to use your amazing overdrive on your tracks.”

Final Thought
I’m a big fan of United Plugins’ products; I’ve tested a few of products and they are all fantastic, especially the Front DAW. I’ve been using Front DAW on practically every session for quite some time now.
This plugin has really impressed me; it sounds fantastic, it’s light on the CPU, the UI is incredibly clear, configurable, and simple to use, and it’s quite inexpensive.
The only thing I’d want to see in future updates is the ability to view numbers on buttons while altering things. I mean, it’s a matter of personal preference, and I prefer to have that choice.
Although some of the features on this plugin will be deactivated after 15 days, I believe it will still be highly useful. To be honest, I don’t think the price is excessive for the quality this plugin delivers; in fact, I believe it is very reasonable. And if you liked it, I strongly advise you to invest in and get the full version. I did, and I’m quite pleased with my choice.
