The VolumeFormer plugin from coreFX is a sidechain effect and automation tool. This plugin was created to provide you with the well-known “pumping” effect that occurs when a track undergoes fluctuations in response to another signal (sidechain effect), and it does so without the requirement for signal paths. You can graphically replicate all of that across tracks in your DAW, as well as achieve more complicated designs.

This plugin works similarly to other plugins on the market, such as Cableguys’ VolumeShaper, Devious Machines’ Duck, Nicky Romero’s Kickstart, and WA Production’s Dodge Pro, in that a curve is drawn within the graph that acts on the volume of the incoming signal. With this plugin, you can not only simulate a sidechain compression effect, but also an automated Gate.

The interface displays a visual screen showing the waveform of the incoming audio input in real-time, with envelope forms overlay and five adjustable control points. The user can also change the plugin’s operation mode. (Pump or Gate) and the degree of signal modulation used. The PUMP mode simulates a Sidechain compressor, while the Gate mode is ideal for creating rhythmic Gate effects and other creative effects.
